Howdy everybody, my name is Martin Rottler. I'm the former Executive Youth Trustee and National Junior Representative for CISV USA. I call the Denver chapter home.

My CISV Life

I recently completed my term as EYT/NJR for CISV USA. During my time in that position, I had a great time, and was kept busy with e-mails, phone calls, beer, meetings, and more. Now that I'm done, I'm a man with no position but hope to soon be completing projects having to do with the financial development of CISV USA.

Outside of JB, my main interests in CISV are:

  • Leadership Training (Before being elected EYT I spent most of my time on this national committee)
  • Village: I love the programme and get the most out of it.
  • Developing sound financial practices for Junior Branch

My CISV "resume" includes:

  • JB Rocky Mountain President: 2002-2003
  • CISV USA National Board Meeting: 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
  • CISV USA National Youth Meeting: 2003, 2007ish
  • CISV Canada National Board Meeting: 2006, 2007
  • JC, Destination: Peace Village, Chattanooga, USA: 2003
  • Participant, Celery on Tour Seminar Camp, Ottawa, Canada: 2004
  • Junior Staff, Rockin' the Rockies Village, Denver, USA: 2006
  • ARMM 2006 Jonkoping, Sweden; 2007 Chinauta, Colombia; 2008 Florence, Italy
  • IJBC and AIM 2007 Paipa, Colombia; 2008 Florence, Italy
  • Staff, We Have a Dream Village, Atlanta, USA: 2008

My Personal Life

Yep, that's me, taking flight in a Cirrus SR22.

I currently study as a graduate student in the University of North Dakota's School of Education and am a recent graduate of the university with a Bachelor's Degree as a Scholar of Honors there where I wrote a thesis entitled "A Proposal for an Extracurricular Supplemental Aviation Education Program for North Dakota Tribal Schools" (sound interesting?).

My main passion in life is flying. I've flown nearly 400 hours over many states and love the freedom associated with it. At university I keep myself busy with many projects and clubs including the aviation student council, art museum and as a service learning mentor in the honors program. I also write for my school's newspaper, the Dakota Student. I'm single and I enjoy long walks on the beach and watching sunsets. I'm addicted to Flickr. You can find my photostream here.
