Tore Heerup
From JBPedia
Tore Bang Heerup - Born 14th of july 1989. Currently living in Copenhagen.
After finishing elementary school in Copenhagen, Tore started “Gymnasium” (High School) from where he graduated in 2008 - with main subjects in: Media, Society studies and Math. Now he is studying Business and Psychology at the Copenhagen Business school. It is a new combination, which basically studies how you can get from A to B and reach an optimal result as a group of people. Also how individuals act and are being influenced by others in organizations. Really interesting.
One of Tores great hobbies is photographing. If you are taking a walk in the harbours of Copenhagen at night you might be able to catch him taking photos. And if he had more money he would probably spend them on camera equipment. However besides photographing he likes to cook nice meals with his friends. And he really enjoys a good glass of redwine.
During the last years in elementary school Tore joined the Copenhagen Student council, and sat in the board for two years, working on getting better conditions for students in Copenhagen.
After that he was the first to establish and manage a project in his Gymnasium. Getting all the students to take a day off from studying and working instead - sending all the money to an educational project in a developing country.
Once he finished High School / Gymnasium, he took a year away from school and started working as a substitute teacher for almost a year. He saved up money and went travelling in Central America before he went to IJBC and AIM in Antigua, Guatemala.
When Tore is a grown up he hopes to work for an NGO who deals with education of children in developing countries. For this he wants to combine his current studies with the studies of education / learning. Hopefully this will lead him to that job. When he was younger he always had a dream about changing and saving the world. However, he realize now that he should rather than changing the world, he should focus on changing world for some people. And this is want he wants to do.
However, as you can read in the Bonus facts section he also has a new dream of buying a vineyard in Argentina.
But even before all this Tore has some Near future plans. They include the following:
- EJBM 2010 in Holland - Easter
- TTT attendance in Sweden - May
- Staffing a summercamp in Denmark - July
- Attending ARMM - IJB(team meeting)C - AIM - july/august
Somewhere in between or after this he really needs to find a job and a place to live too...

What is that photo in my questionnaire?
CISV too is like a kitchen - a big multinational kitchen. Each different part of CISV represent a different part of the kitchen (The stove, the fridge, microwave, blender etc.). These are our different programmes and committees. However in a kitchen you also find tools (knives, forks, spoons, weight, measurement tools, etc) we use these tools in different ways, to prepare the food. And the food is the last thing we find in the kitchen. There are thousands and thousands of different ingredients and spices. These are the people of CISV. Separately they are “just” a tomato or a potato, they taste good, but if we combine them, prepare them and cook them in a nice way, they can get so much better, and that is when we can get the most out of them. Together the different ingredients make a great dish. In the CISV kitchen we have many different recipes and ways of cooking. However all of our recipes are giving 1-4 special spices which is truly unique to us, these are our 4 content areas. This is what makes us special from all the rest of the restaurants and kitchen all over the world. Sometimes the kitchen is really busy, the oven is running, the microwave is beeping and many different dishes are being cooked - however they all serve the same purpose to be eaten and enjoyed. In our case it is Peace Education.
But where in this huge massive kitchen which always smells nice, do you find the IJR? I like to think of the IJR as the “Joker” of the kitchen. The IJR is both a tool, an ingredient and a part of the kitchen. Sometimes the IJR has to serve as an ingredient to a special dish, and other times the IJR is a tool that helps others. By having all these different “roles” in the kitchen the IJR is constantly keeping track of what is going on. The IJR knows and put up suggestions for recipes on how to prepare a certain dish. It knows which ingredients goes well together and which tools are good to use. Sometimes it is best to keep the dish simple and just use the oven, other times it is best to mix many different ingredients and prepare them in different ways and putting them together in the end.
Now that you are here, I have added in the links which apparently doesn't work in the questionnaires, so that you can have a look if you want to!
