From JBPedia
about languages
if its like a tool ressource,
can we then edit some pages in our language to ressource our country, and then translate to english afterward ?
-->
Hey Fre, we are currently looking into having a multilingual JBPedia in the future. Since we're juuust starting, for the sake of organising the content in a clear and easy way, we'll just start out by having it in English.
We'd love to follow the project's development and - once we're more stable and settled - start translating the main articles (JB Development, JB Essentials, Infofile O-15, etc) into many languages. Yeah, it would ideally be like in Wikipedia when, on your left, you see a list of languages that this article can be found in.
Please be patient, we'll be polyglots soon enough!

no actualy what i wanted to say, is just : " are we allowed to post things not in english here ? if its for resourcing our own chapter or country (for exemple : JB board minutes) ...or IT HAS TO BE in english ?!! (Honolulupipi 00:28, 29 September 2007 (BST))
I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough. No, for the moment all posts should be in English, until we can develop a multi-lingual JBPedia as I explained above. As for resources, the Library is going to be released by early March, and this will be the tool devoted for JB resourcing and file sharing (such as JB Board minutes, as you suggested). So yes: the answer is all articles should be in English.

Discussion on an Article page
--> this is just a suggestion, but it would be cool if people use more the "discussion"-page that comes automaticly with every page that is created. that way we keep articles un-messy ,... and things organised

Rules?
--> i think its really hard to define so far what can be written or not on JBpedia.
some articles has been tagged with the blue warning images http://www.ijb.cisv.org/mwiki/index.php/Image:Warningtag.jpg, and some not,
some pages took a turn to look like a "myspace" page, rather than being informative,
some pages about local JB chapters look like a HomePages used for advertising events and such stuff, like it could be a HomePage that could be given as a publicity for new parents in the chapter .... such as any other websites that can be on the web.
is that OK to do that ?
would it be a good idea if someone from the Admin, define where's the limit, or list down some rules or exemples ?(rather than just saying "The idea behind JBPedia is to:" )
like, can we use JBpedia for a place to put informations for people that are NEW and really doesnt know what CISV is about, or it should be more like a place to resource the JBers of the world ?

Thanks for these questions, Fred, I hope this can make things clearer:
The Connect area of the IJB Committee has been working on developing and launching a triad of websites. These are the new IJB Website, the Library and JBPedia. These are complementary portals that have different purposes and uses.
JBPedia was launched in September 2007, and the other two shall be ready by early March 2008. It has taken many months of reassessment of the IJB community's needs nowadays.
JBPedia was initially defined as the "About" you have quoted above, and we are currently undergoing a deeper process of further defining its concept in order to make it more transparent, understandable and accessible for everyone. The idea of JBPedia was of course launched with the expectation of going through a (re)evaluation process some months after its birth. This is the great thing about Junior Branch, I believe - daring to carry out wild projects and taking chances to improve!
The Website is a page that already exists but is quite outdated and does not fit our purpose anymore. A group of around 10 juniors has engaged in an email debate last June about how it should be, moderated by the 2006-2007 IJRs. After IJBC 2007, the Connect Team (Kel, Rou, Cecily and Maru) and the IJRs (Marcos and Kelly) further defined the concepts and content that should go into it. The Website will be that initial page that people should go to when they want to find out what JB is!
About the third site, the Library, please read about it here. The idea is that the three of them will be fully integrated in order to satisfy all Connecting needs of our community.
Your points and questions will be taken into account for this further reassessing of JBPedia and on behalf of the team I thank you for your input!
