Paul 13:08, 1 April 2008 (BST) whoever wrote all this, realy beautiful :)
Louise 22:22, 10 April 2008 (BST) I love this project!
Felix 18:47, 7 May 2008 (BST) I really like this project. You are talking about questions i always was wondering about.I see a lot of paradoxies in cisv's self-conception concerning politics. we should try to make cisv a REAL peace organisation fighting for his goals. if you say cisv is not political, you actually do not understand what cisv is about. thank you for PmP guys:-)
Hani Actually since my country (Lebanon) is so into political conflicts and tensions, we had a lot of talks at the international Workshop in Lebanon 2 weeks ago about CISV and politics and conflicts and to find someone already working on that theme that is so sensitive to our country is great! Would love to see how this goes on and see how this can become a JB theme to be discussed. :D My ideas on this are:
- Can you be politically affiliated with a party or an ideology without being in contradiction with the CISV goals and the core peace values of CISV?
- Isn't CISV by itself a kind of universal political ideology in a very non direct way?
- For CISV to "change the world" as it aims too, shouldn't it start being involved in the tools that allow you to do that, which is mainly politics?
I hope this feedback helps... keep up the great work and keep us updated :D:D:D:D THUMBS UP! Hani - Lebanese NJR
Paul what? The great article kicked in and no comments yet?! i cant believe it,btw i loved the fact that our article was the first... made me feel so important hahaha
Hani OK Paul... the thing is I've read the article 3 times so far because I looooooovvvvvvvvved it and have soooooo many comments to do on it...but I don't think it is very effective to do it here... But I'll make sure to give you my comments really really soon... it was such an amazing article... maybe we can like post it on JB community and discuss it there since it is the new JB tool to connect everyone and it's still fresh and active... anyways, I never really enjoyed an article as much as I did with this one! Great job guys :D
Deniz I am so excited about this project. It has been brought up many times in different CISV gatherings whether CISV should/could take a stand against war (or conflicts). I have not been able to follow the latest dicussions but would certainly like to know more about it. It was high time JB recognized our individual/organizational political-ness. I am not sure if this group will be interested in the following as well but I will include it. Don't you think that bringing people (children, teenagers, adults) together specially from "conflict zones" would make the mission/vision of CISV reach its ultimate purpose: peace through cultural understanding and vaporizing prejudices. I am aware of the legal restrictions in some cases for camps but still there is a part in me really dissatisfied by our performance in pushing or trying "limit"s. I am just trying to say that our fear to talk about these things in official meetings, camps is aided by the fact that CISV stands as a non-political organization. I think this provides a lot of participants a sort-of justification to ignore the reality outside our CISV bubble. Congratulations guys!! Keep up the good work!
