i think there's a difference between

  • only listing down names that can connect people together with the linking system of JBpedia*
  • and doing some sort of publicity for a programme by saying "woahhh that was the best village ever ...etc.."

* "connect people together" ... for exemple : if i see that the JC at my village in 2001 is now NJR of his country, i would be more willing to talk to him rather than any other NJRs that i dont know...

Yup, I see your point! However... If we only list down the names that can connect people together, how can we determine up to which point we'll include information about camps? I liked your example about getting in touch with someone who is now NJR and used to be at your camp - you still can! Many people list their CISV activities in their profile (I did!) and if you use the search box on your left, you can still look for "X Village" through it. A list of pages that contain that name will show up and - bingo! You still can connect to people, but let's do this within a JB context.

The list of programmes is within a personal page, with the purpose of sharing something about you with everyone. To make lists of people who attended a programme (and say "woaah that was the best village eveeer!", why not??) we have CISV Friends which is a wonderful resource. (By the way - great changes are coming up there.)

We really want to encourage connecting, as you said. But if JBPedia becomes CISV Friends and the other way round too - then it's a waste of time and energy. Using one for the other's purpose gets confusing and loses the point. It would be great if these camp pages went to Friends, then we would really make a significant contribution, what do you think?
