2009

This year Costa Rica participated in the Human Arrows Project!

  • How we did it?
Due to time issues we did not contact another NGO, but we still managed to make an impression and raise awareness. We thought doing just 1 arrow would be boring; the more arrows the more people aware, right? So we sail on our quest to do various human arrows across the country, including people from all different age groups! Want to see our WICKED COOL arrows? Take a look at the pictures below:
  • Don't forget to check out this cool video made by Tatiana Fraga Diez that illustrates all the different cities were the Human Arrows Project took place:

  • Was that all JB Costa Rica did for Peace One Day 2009?
Off course not! We needed to close the night with style and that's why JB Costa Rica got dressed up and headed downtown to the National Theater were the closing ceremony of "Cumbre de Paz" (The fourth Global Alliance Summit for Ministries and Departments of Peace) was taking place. More than 200 people from across the globe attended this summit. We had the opportunity to listen to entertaining and motivating speeches talking about: love and respect, learning to take care of ourselves so that we can take care of others, "win-win situations", and more!

2008

We came up with a catchy phrase "Pulseando La Paz" (Pushing for Peace) to print in our stickers and T-shirts and we organized a Caravan for Peace For this activity every JBers had to form their own group with a responsible designated driver. All cars met at 10:00 a.m. at the Parque de La Paz and were given balloons, posters, flags, and banners to decorate their cars (although some were creative enough to decorate them themselves). Then we took a picture in the shape of a peace a sign and were ready to go! When all cars were pimped up and ready to go we started our tour around the city visiting various key sports and handing out flyers and stickers to people to inform them on Peace One Day. It was a long way but with out a doubt a really fun Peace One Day!
