Our News
As a whole CISV México, we just attended to the 60th anniversary party hosted by a group of parents. The most amazing thing was meeting CISVers of all ages, people from the first village up to future participants.
Our latest big activity was Peace One Day, so we danced, danced and DANCED!
In early September we participated in the CAM workshop! We got together with more than 40 people from Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras and had an amazing time. One of the projects we had was to have a CAM day of change which took place the first weekend of October.
Right before summer our activities were organizing and hosting the ceremony to give the delegations their programs and organizing a super fun rally at a children's museum in Mexico City. We worked on our very first JB DAY and on the national night boxes full of everything a mexican needs for the NATIONAL NIGHT!
How we work
Heres is how our jb works, and what do we doooo it.
Our Jb has two Njr´s, and for everychapter we have a JB Board. The board is in charge, working with njr´s, to do the chapter activities.
Our Jb has responsibilities inside cisv NA, we are in charge on many different things:
- JC training and selecting
- Organize and host the ceremony to give delegations there programs.
- We organize a anual rally, for delegations to have a fun day.
- We sell a box for leaders, to take to there villages, the box includes everything a mexican needs for a national night.
- Jb Mexico has the rights of the cisv Mexico logo, so we do and sell all the t-shirts and items you see from México
- This year we are traing to make a national cisv minicamp, to bring new people to cisv
- NJR´s have a vote inside the NA board, so we are part of every decision.
We get money from every item we make with the CISV logo on it.
And we meet around every 3 weeks for chapter activities, where anyone can make the activities for the day. Besides, around november, we make our National Junior Branch Meeting (NJBM), where we elect new NJR´s and JB boards.
Peace One Day
Our latest POD activity was participating in the JB's One Day One Dance project, dancing to the rhythm of Doris Allen. We participated in two videos, one from the Mexican JB and the other one with the whole CAM region. Click on the links to see us dance!
Last year we participated in the global One Day One Goal project, which was a really big and cool event. check out the pics!
The year before that we had Mexico City participating in the Human Arrows Project along with one interesting LMO and afterwards we had an activity about violence inside families. We also had JB Querétaro growing awareness about Peace in various places around town (also go to their individual page to know more about it) Also, we made a huge peace sign in a school, making young people aware of peace one day
JB THEME
We have started to work on this year's theme Sustainable Development since our NJBM, which we hosted in an Environmental Educational Center in Mexico City.
Last year's theme Conflict & Resolution has been included in most of the activities we have done over the year. From Peace One Day to the CAM day of change, we have reflected this topic looking at our own environment and the problems our country is facing right now.
The year before that the IJB theme was Identity and Peace Education:
On our NJBM we did activities to introduce the Whole JB, to last year's theme.
After that, we had an activity about Identity, we used the WHO IS A CISVER, activity. We used pictures of Gandhi, John Lenon, A Porn Star, a Down Syndrome kid, Hitler, a Nerd, A guy drinking, and Batman. Two hours later, Jb México decided that a cisv'er is someone:
That works with different people, with ideals, motivates people, with an international impact, national unity, peace, have conflicts resolutions, respects others opinion, creative, inspires people for "good", influential, promotes education, works in teams, just, does stuff regardless of any state, social, doesn´t discriminate, open to new experiences, open minded, separates his problems, flexible, responsable, mentaly healthy, aware of other people, doesn´t make other people less, no stereotype, no prejudices, energetic, wanting to overcome his challenges, with plenty of love, patience, with solidarity, common sense, and who loves to SPOON!.
And we decided that it's not a cisv'er someone who:
Is not tolerant with others, wants war, thinks of a superior race, no respect, no ideals, no equality, doesn't finish up his food, who breaks R7, kills, violent, no respect for laws, with identity problems, doesn't accept consequences, authoritarian, doesn't understand goals, not an example to follow, bad image, not funny.

Our Projects
Right now we are working on some really great projects:
1.- We are working together with our NA organizing a very special celebration of the 60 years of CISV México with past, present and future CISVers. We are mostly in charge of the items, which is amazing because it is at the same time a really good opportunity for fundraising for more projects.
2.- Being back from CAM, we have a lot of joint projects with Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador! Some of these include:
- A CAM annual day for change every second weekend of october.
- A database that includes all the members of the countries in CAM and last but not least
- Making CAM workshop happen every year!
And of course we are keeping rocking every time, as usual...
