This will also enable us to launch and practice about the IJB Theme of the coming 2 years : Identity. We hope that everyone will enjoy this time and benefit as much as they can from it. Peace One Day Ideas to Work on
After a nice activity ran by our juniors of Clermont-Ferrand during our last NJBM, we came up with a few ideas for Peace One Day. We thought it was better to start working on it now since pretty much all our chapters don't have any juniors meeting before the 21st of September. Here go the ideas :
- Idea 1 : The idea is to link to famous or not places in your own city. This idea can be implemented all around the world. You'll need for that the authorization of your city hall or mayor, motivated juniors, to be on the 21st of September, CISV T-shirts to promote, flyers about Peace One Day (aka PoD), a fast and little speech to explain what CISV is, a nice pattern of the peace sign (or other) and a stock of chalks to draw on the floor. Now get ready for the 21st at Place1 and ask people to draw on the floor a peace sign or anything else, linked to the previous ones in order to proceed to Place2.
- Idea 2 : Manage to get helium inflatable balloons, tag them with the CISV logo or a PoD symbol. Print some small cards that you'll be able to tie to the balloons and have people writting a sentence related to peace on it. At the end of the day, or maybe one by one, as you wish, release the ballon in the air and thank everyone that contributes to your project.
- Idea 3 : Just like JB Italy did in Bologna, FREEZE with as many people as you can. Record it, sensations garanteed !
- Idea 4 : Try to make a new merchandise collection related to PoD : bracelets, T-shirts, necklaces, patches...
- What you can do by yourself (even on an isolated island) :
Get an helium inflatable balloon marked PoD and/or CISV and give out flyers (Which is a very redundant idea, even if non-environment-friendly)
Warn the Student Union of your school so that they can either help you o to something or publish something in their monthly newsletter
At elementary school / High School / College / Uni, write a quick sentence on the black board before everyone gets in the the classroom / lecture hall
And be creative !
And to remind eveyone about the Global Movement we try to set up more and more, remember to take pictures and send them to the other JBs so we can get new ideas and laught about the memories we had on this wonderfull and peaceful day that is the 21st of September!
